moulds

My moulds start out as a solid bar of cast iron and are cut into approximate size then normalized twice at 1150 degrees prior to any machining process. From there they are further machined to exterior dimensions of approximately 1 1/2" X 1 5/8" and then dialed in to a four jaw chuck for lathe cutting of the cavity.  They are produced one at a time and are single cavity moulds with nose or base pour available. I use 3 1/4" hardened alignment pins  The sprue plates are machined from 3/16" steel and are machine ground to ensure a perfect fit to the top of each mould.
